In Memory of Youth

Photo series by Sarah Cela, taken when living in Oxford

This photo series is supposed to capture the feeling of being eighteen, and the place and people that surrounded me in the time that they were taken. The photographs are taken in the city in which we have spent eighteen years with the same people. I wanted to capture the comfort of home and the impending feeling that it won't be the same in university. We will never be doing the same A-Levels in the same class together, with the same people we have always known - we will never have this routine again. It's supposed to show us just existing together, living in a place where we've spent all this time and gone through these things.
